Tube-Alloy 240-O is a self-shielded, flux-cored wire used for hard surfacing. The wire deposits chromium carbide alloy that offers a combination of good abrasion resistance and moderate- to heavy-impact resistance. It is designed for overlay on carbon, low alloy, or austenitic manganese base metals. Tube-Alloy 240-O also has a steady-arc that creates minimal noise or spatter, along with minimal slag coverage. Its out-of position welding is limited to a horizontal shelf technique. Tube-Alloy 240 works well for hard surfacing on ammonia knives, augers, bucket teeth and lips, bulldozer blades and crusher jaws, cones and rolls.
